Having been an UHS doctor since 1990 I have seen a fair bit of change — some good, some not! I hope that my local knowledge will help prevent a repetition of past mistakes enabling positive change. I believe in an NHS with more co-operation, less competition; more focus on patients, less on targets; more common sense, less political correctness. Patients want safe, quality healthcare, delivered locally at an appropriate time by medical and surgical teams they both know and trust. This is what foundation status should deliver for them. This is what we hope to achieve.
