What does a council member do?
The council consists of 23 members who will gather the views of the hospital's members and give them a voice at the highest level of the organisation. The first elections were held in March 2009 with the help of the Electoral Reform Society.
Thirteen seats on the council are for public members who wish to have more of a say and play a part in linking with the membership community.
