Prospective nurses offered rare glimpse of specialist departments

Southampton General Hospital is to hold a novel recruitment day offering prospective nursing staff an insight into the work of three cutting edge departments.

Due to the expansion of the specialist services division, Southampton University Hospitals NHS Trust is offering opportunities for nurses to join its cardiac, neurosciences and intensive care teams.

Potential recruits will get a chance to meet specialist nurses, visit the diverse clinical facilities and hear from speakers who have developed their careers within the Trust.

Part of the day will include an optional acuity assessment skills training session, where participants will receive a certificate of attendance.

Sue Chorley, divisional retention and recruitment lead at SUHT, said: "People attending this event will have a very rare opportunity to go behind the scenes of some of our most respected departments.

"They will gain an insight into the kind of training, education and clinical expertise that they can expect to receive as part of our team."

The event takes place on Wednesday 25 March, with sessions to be held from 8.30am to 11.30am, 12.30pm to 3.30pm and 4.30pm to 7.30pm.
