Gareth Davies has been reappointed as a non-executive director of Southampton University Hospitals NHS Trust.
Mr Davies, who works as a customer management consultant, will serve on the Trust Board for four years from 1 December 2009 until 30 November 2013.
He has held national roles in Amnesty International, served as deputy chairman of a health service public forum and is currently a trustee of One Community, a charity providing care, transport and voluntary sector services in the region.
All non-executive appointments are made on merit and political activity plays no part in the selection process. However, in accordance with the original Nolan recommendations, there is a requirement for appointees' political activity (if any declared) to be made public.
Mr Davies holds no other ministerial appointment and is not involved in any political activity.
Mr Davies’ reappointment has been made in accordance with the Commissioner for Public Appointments’ Code of Practice. He will receive a non-executive director remuneration of £6,096 per year.
