West Wing extension works, from 16 October 2013
Work to prepare the site for building additional floors above the West Wing extension will start on 16 October. In additional to sealing the external entrance to the infectious diseases unit, the impact of the work will mean a lane on the exit road will be closed, and changes will be made to the footpath into the site from Coxford Road.
A plan for the work is attached for further information.
We apologise for any inconvenience caused by these works.
Crane move at West Wing entrance: Tuesday, 5 and Wednesday, 6 November
As part of the West Wing extension works, a large tower crane is being brought onto site. This will happen on Tuesday, 5 and Wednesday, 6 November, starting at 7am on both days.
This will cause disruption at the West Wing entrance, and patients and visitors are asked to use alternative routes into the hospital where possible. If you do need to use identified walkways and pavements, please take care and follow directions given by traffic control officers from Kier, or the hospital Travelwise and security teams who will have staff on site to manage traffic.
Drop off and pick up points should be adjusted to avoid using the main West Wing entrance if possible during the works.
