To mark World COPD (chronic obstructive pulmonary disease) day, we're holding an event in West Quay on Wednesday, 18 November 2015. You can find us on the lower ground floor (next to the lifts) between 9.30am and 3.30pm.
It's estimated that between 25 and 50% of people with COPD don't know they have it. We can find out if you have COPD using spirometry, a simple painless blowing test that will be available on the day.
There are lots of things you can do to improve your respiratory health, whatever stage you are at. There will be consultants, registrars, scientists and specialist nurses on hand to speak to for more information and advice. Representatives from the British Lung Foundation and BreatheEasy support groups will also be on hand.
The COPD choir will be performing between approximately 12.45 and 1.15pm. This is a local group, who sing as part of their exercise routine.
Whether you have COPD, know someone who does, or just want to find out more, we hope to see you there.
For more information please call 023 8120 5330 or 07867 142279 to speak to Dr Victoria Kim, Kate Gillett or Carla Astles.
