Updated: Cold weather alert: information for patients and visitors
Updated 2 March 2018, 1pm
Due to the adverse weather conditions that have arrived in the Hampshire area, University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust would like to issue the following advice to patients and visitors.
If you have an outpatient appointment this afternoon
Patients scheduled to attend outpatient clinics this afternoon are being contacted to ask them not to come unless they have strong concerns about clinical urgency. These appointments will be rescheduled.
If you are planning to visit a patient today
We would encourage friends and relatives considering visiting hospital inpatients to delay this until at least tomorrow.
We are giving this advice to patients and visitors because the roads and pavements around the hospital remain very slippery and more bad weather is expected later today.
Staying well during the cold weather
Cold weather can affect your health and some people can be more at risk than others. To find out more about keeping warm and staying well this winter, please click here. We would also like to remind people about the full range of healthcare services available to them such as their GP, NHS 111 and local pharmacies.
