Patients, staff and visitors to Southampton General and Princess Anne hospitals are being advised of diversions that will be in place overnight beginning Monday, 1 July.
The diversions are being put in place to allow for the resurfacing of Coxford Road from the junction with Warren Avenue up to and across the junction with Tremona Road.
This will require the road to be closed in sections from 8pm until 6am and require diversions to be put in place across three phases, designed to maintain access to both hospitals throughout.
The work means that access points to and from Southampton General Hospital that lead out onto Coxford Road will be affected.
Access to Princess Anne and the main Tremona Road entrance to SGH will be maintained throughout, although traffic will subject to diversions that will change through the course of the roadworks, so those who might be using the hospital between the closure times are being urged to allow extra time for their journeys.
For further details on the phases of work and subsequent diversions, please visit the Southampton City Council transport site here. The project is expected to be completed on Friday, 12 July.
Engineers have advised that the works are weather dependant so may change.
