Our CQC report
When the CQC arrived to inspect our Trust we told them that our biggest strengths were our staff and the culture within the hospital of compassion, commitment and ambition to improve.
The CQC saw this for themselves and it is echoed in their report. They said, "staff were caring and compassionate" and "the Trust had a highly innovative culture”.
The report has many positive aspects - including all our services being rated either good or outstanding for 'caring' and both the Princess Anne Hospital and Countess Mountbatten House were both rated as 'good' overall.
However, the CQC also recognised the challenges we’d told them about - particularly the pressure on our capacity, clinical staffing vacancies and the age and condition of our estate - and overall rated the SGH site, and the overall Trust, as 'requires improvement’.
We’re now in the process of developing an action plan which maps out the improvements we’ll be making based on the CQC’s findings and we’ll post information about these on our website over the coming months.
