Operational targets

In 2009/10 the Trust has continued to deliver on national waiting times with more than 90% of admitted patients and over 95% of non-admitted patients being treated within 18 weeks of referral from their GP.

The Trust has also achieved seven of eight targets relating to quicker treatment of patients with cancer, the eighth target (for more than 93% of patients to attend their first appointment within two weeks of GP referral) was achieved in the final quarter following improvements we implemented.

In 2010/11 we intend to maintain this progress, in order to ensure that all patients are able to accesstreatment, and cancer appointments in accordance with the NHS Constitution.

For the second year running, our Emergency Department| achieved its target of admitting or discharging 98% of patients within four hours throughout the year.
