We are continuously monitored against targets and standards. Our performance information, such as key statistics and ratings, are published on this website and elsewhere (such as the Dr Foster website) as part of our commitment to these standards and our regulation by external bodies.
Summary of recent ratings
In 2009/10 the Care Quality Commission (CQC), an independent health watchdog, rated our hospitals as “good” for quality of financial management and “fair” for quality of services. This evaluation was based on performance in 2008/09. More about our CQC ratings|.
Meanwhile, the Trust was awarded high marks in the Department of Health’s annual inspection. The Patient Environment Action Team (PEAT), managed by the National Patient Safety Agency, gave Princess Anne Hospital and Countess Mountbatten House excellent and good ratings while Southampton General Hospital received good results in all three categories. The Trust has continued to deliver on national waiting times targets, and achieved seven of eight targets relating to quicker treatment of patients with cancer, while our Emergency Department achieved its target of admitting or discharging 98% of patients within four hours throughout the year.
