Safety and incidents

The Trust is committed to providing high quality care for all its patients. We want to ensure that the hospital is as safe as possible and we believe this will be achieved by developing a culture of continual improvement.

In 2010-11 our priorities for patient safety are:

  • reduction of venous thromboembolism (deep vein thrombosis and pulmonary embolism), and
  • the reduction of hospital acquired pressure ulcers.

For more information on our recent performance and future priorities, see our Quality account| for 2010-11.

To compare our performance with other hospitals, see Patient safety measures from Dr Foster quality account 2008-09|.
