Warm weather advice
The Trust has prepared for a heatwave as part of our overall emergency planning.
Extreme heat is dangerous to everyone and, when temperatures remain abnormally high over more than a couple of days, it can prove fatal.
People with heart, respiratory and serious health problems are more at risk and the heat can make these conditions worse. Babies and young children are also especially at risk.
Look after yourself and others during heatwaves, to avoid sunstroke and other serious effects of extreme heat.
Top tips include:
- Staying out of the sun in the hottest part of the day
- Protecting your skin with sunscreen and a hat
- Keeping hydrated
