Equality and diversity: Events
The Trust’s first Black and minority ethnic (BME) conference aimed at BME staff and managers was held 23 September 2011. BRAP, (Birmingham Race Action Partnership) supported the Trust to deliver the conference and facilitated workshops for BME staff. The conference included presentations from:

Dr Vivienne Lyfar-Cisse, national lead NHS; Rudi Page, BME facilitator; and Anne Cato, BME Network also presented at the conference. The keynote speaker was Kriss Akabusi.
The outcomes of the conference have informed the Trust’s BME action plan which has been produced in collaboration with the BME network.
The Trust plan to hold an annual conference following the success of the first one.
