Children's Physiotherapy team's special purchase

ChildrensPhysioChair

Thanks to the dedication of a group of fundraisers, staff at Southampton General Hospital’s children’s physiotherapy department have purchased a specialist chair to help young patients.

The colourful and fun state of the art chair, which cost over £2,000 will help to aid the rehabilitation of patients under the age of five, who have had acute brain injury. Friends Kimberley Pointer and Gemma Gilmore completed a 25-mile walk to help raise funds for Southampton Hospital charity’s children’s physiotherapy fund, whilst Nat Severs, 23, walked 7,000 miles around the coastline of mainland Britain. The challenge, which took 10 months to complete entirely on foot, saw Nat spend most nights sleeping in just a small tent.

Nat said, “I had the idea for the walk a few years ago and reached a point in my life where I could make it a reality.

“Contributing to the children’s physiotherapy department’s efforts to buy a new rehabilitation chair for under fives is a lasting and worthy cause I am really pleased to help.
