Heath Hotel raises a Monkey for friend Harry

Heath Hotel

The Heath Hotel in Dibden Purlieu is the latest company to take part in Southampton Hospital Charity’s Red & White Appeal| Monkey Challenge, to support friend and colleague Harry Rouse.

The team have raised a total of £508 through various fundraising events including quiz nights and bingo nights, in support of Harry, aged 17 who is currently undergoing treatment for leukaemia at Southampton General Hospital and who worked at the Heath Hotel before being taken ill.

Local businesses have been set the goal of raising £500 (‘a monkey’) in the lead up to Christmas, which will go towards the £2.2million campaign to create a specialist day unit for patients receiving treatment for life threatening blood cancers at Southampton General Hospital.

Kailey Hole, waitress at the Heath Hotel said “We really wanted to fundraise for the Red & White Appeal as our friend and colleague Harry is currently being treated at the hospital for leukaemia. We all wanted to do something to help and it’s great that the money we’ve raised at the hotel will help build the new day case unit that Harry will use later on in his treatment.”

The Heath Hotel are planning further events to fundraise for the Appeal including a party night on Saturday 17 December and breakfast with Santa on 24 December, from 9am. For more information contact the Heath Hotel on 023 8084 2275.

Every company that completes the Monkey Challenge will be entered into a prize draw to win a day out at a Go Ape challenge centre for up to 6 colleagues. To get involved email Carrie.Bolt@uhs.nhs.uk| or call 023 8079 8881.
