Following Southampton Hospital Charity’s recent Red & White Appeal Day|, the £2.2million campaign continues to receive support from across the region.

The Red & White Appeal| aims to create a specialist treatment unit for patients with leukaemia and other forms of blood cancer, from across Hampshire, the Isle of Wight, Wiltshire, Dorset, West Sussex and the Channel Islands.

This state of the art unit will enable medical staff to vastly improve the quality of care for all patients receiving treatment for these life-threatening conditions at Southampton General Hospital.

Individuals, communities and businesses from across the South, were raising funds for Red & White Appeal Day on Friday 4 March, to help the charity towards its target.

Recent visitor to Southampton General Hospital’s Bone Marrow Transplant Unit, MP for Southampton Itchen, John Denham is supporting the fundraising drive and says, “I’m delighted that the Red and White appeal Day has been a success.  The funds raised will make a real difference to patients receiving life saving treatment.”

Veryan Grant, Director of Southampton Hospital Charity said, "We are hugely grateful for the support of Mr Denham in backing this vital Appeal.  It is so important that we raise the remaining funds towards our £2.2million target as quickly as possible to benefit patients with blood cancers, and we hope that the community continue to back the project."
