DIY SOS television celebrity Nick Knowles and BBC South sports reporter Roger Johnson visited Southampton General Hospital in March to officially re-launch the charity supporting University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust.
Both charity patrons were on site to help as a 10ft monolith bearing the Southampton Hospital Charity's new logo was unveiled outside the main entrance.
The charity, whose president is The Lady Brabourne of Broadlands Estate in Romsey, will raise money for equipment and upgrades for the General Hospital, the Princess Anne Maternity Hospital and Countess Mountbatten House.
Nick Knowles said: "I presented City Hospital from Southampton General Hospital for three years, so I got to know everybody here."
"Also, last year I became very ill and it was the doctors at Southampton that picked up I had contracted TB when in Africa. It was Southampton that identified what was wrong and also cured me. It's a great hospital, especially as it's a teaching hospital - they are brilliant in lots of areas."
Roger Johnson said: "It's a great honour for me to be a patron. Hopefully the money that can be raised can go towards augmenting the good work that is already done here."
13-year-old Zoe Reavey, who was born 11 weeks prematurely at Princess Anne Hospital, presented director of nursing Judy Gillow with a cake to mark the charity's launch.
Mark Hackett, the hospital's chief executive, added: "This is a very proud day for us. We want to be a five-star organisation, a world-class centre of excellence. The new logo is a symbol of our pride and hope."
