Southampton Hospital Charity’s Red & White Appeal Day| is coming up on Friday, 9 March 2012. With seven weeks to go, the charity is calling on supporters to rally together and volunteer their time to help make the fundraising day a success.
The charity is looking for a team of volunteers to take to the streets in the city centre on Friday, 9 March and collect for the appeal which aims to raise £1.76million to build a state of the art day unit for blood cancer patients from across the region.
Volunteers are also required in the lead up to event. If you could spare a few hours and think you could help by visiting local groups and companies or spreading the word around the hospital, please call 023 8079 8881 or email charity@uhs.nhs.uk| to get involved.
Fundraising manager Carrie Bolt said, “We are really looking forward to this year’s Red & White Appeal Day and hope that everyone will get behind us and help in any way they can.”
Carrie continued, “We are so grateful for the support of volunteers in helping our fundraising and hope that lots of people will come forward to be a part of what should be a fantastic day. Your support really will make a difference to patients receiving ongoing treatment for life threatening blood disorders.”
What could you do for Red & White Appeal Day on Friday, 9 March? Spaces are available for sponsored skydives on Thursday, 8 March and Saturday, 10 March for participants to raise money for the Red & White Appeal. Email suzie.simmons@uhs.nhs.uk| to book your place.
The charity will also be holding a golf day on Thursday, 8 March at Southampton Municipal Golf Course and a corporate networking breakfast on Friday, 9 March at Grand Cafe. To find out more about these events please email carrie.bolt@uhs.nhs.uk|.
Over £1million has been raised for the Red & White Appeal to date and with £760,000 left to raise individuals, community groups and local businesses are also encouraged to organise their own activities on Friday, 9 March to help Southampton Hospital Charity towards its goal.
