Saints announce Red & White Appeal as Regional Charity Partner for 2010/11

Saints and the Red and White Appeal

Southampton Football Club’s Saints Foundation has announced Southampton Hospital Charity’s Red & White Appeal as the first of its Charity Partners for the 2010/11 season.

The Red & White Appeal aims to raise £2.2million to create the transplant treatment centre of choice for patients with leukaemia and other blood disorders from Hampshire, the Isle of Wight, Wiltshire, Dorset, West Sussex and the Channel Islands.

Recently reaching the £500,000 milestone, money raised from the Red & White Appeal will fund a state-of-the-art Day Case Unit which will be of great benefit to haematology patients who need to be closely monitored by the specialist medical team at Southampton General Hospital.

Working in partnership over the coming season through a number of fundraising initiatives, the Saints Foundation hopes to help Southampton Hospital Charity to reach their £2.2million target.

Veryan Grant, director of Southampton Hospital Charity said, “We are so excited to be working with the Saints Foundation for the forthcoming season.

“Southampton Football Club’s red and white colours will be a constant reminder of our Red & White Appeal to help people with life-threatening blood cancers, and we hope that all the fans will show their support of this City’s hospital.”
