Senior Sister wins £1,000 Bumper Lottery Prize!

Allison Armstrong and Suzie Pearce

Southampton Hospital Charity celebrated the first birthday of its weekly Lottery scheme, by giving away a jackpot of £1,000 to one lucky player.

That lucky player was Allison Armstrong, Senior Sister on F1 Ward at Southampton General Hospital, who has been a Southampton Hospital Charity Lottery player since the scheme was launched in October 2008.

Allison said, “I have never won anything before, and I’m so pleased to have won the bumper Lottery jackpot, which I will be spending on a new kitchen. I have been telling all the patients and staff, and everyone that I’ve seen, about my win, and will be encouraging them all to sign up to the Southampton Hospital Charity Lottery for their chance to win!”

Southampton Hospital Charity launched the weekly Lottery Scheme with the aim of helping to raise funds for the benefit of patients at University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust. The goal is to give away a weekly jackpot of £1,000, but this will only be possible when at least 2,500 players have joined the scheme. Until then, the prize pot is made up of 50% of the weekly proceeds.

Southampton Hospital Charity’s Lottery, which is open to everyone over the age of 16, is drawn every Friday, with each entry costing just £1. By joining the weekly Lottery, supporters have a chance to donate to their local hospital, and be in with the chanec of winning one of nine fabulous cash prizes.
