Southampton Hospital Charity would like to thank its supporters for a successful year of fundraising in 2011, bringing in over £2million to support wards and departments across University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust.
This has allowed the purchase of equipment and other items to complement and enhance the provision of healthcare at Southampton General Hospital and the Princess Anne Hospital.
Just some of the items recently funded by Southampton Hospital Charity include:

A blood testing machine for cancer care which significantly reduces waiting time for patients: £35,000
As well as fundraising for ward and department projects and equipment, Southampton Hospital Charity’s Red & White Appeal| aims to create a specialist day treatment unit for patients with leukaemia and other life threatening blood disorders from Hampshire, the Isle of Wight, Wiltshire, Dorset, West Sussex and the Channel Islands. In September the charity celebrated reaching the £1million milestone and the is now asking supporters to work together to reach the fundraising target in 2012.
Charitable support continues in the lead up to Christmas with children’s wards receiving generous donations of Christmas presents by companies including Kier Construction (Southern) and the Marlands Shopping Centre. Tiptoe School and the Royal Navy Bikers are also donating gifts for children spending the festive period in hospital.
The charity team will also be at Westquay shopping centre on Monday 19 and Thursday 22 December offering a gift wrapping service in return for donations to Southampton Hospital Charity.
