Bethan Bennett-Lloyd, operations manager
Bethan manages the day-to-day operations of the facility and oversees the administration team. She leads the development, collection and provision of activity metrics for NIHR reporting and acts as project liaison for major research infrastructure capital programmes.
Operational and administrative activities
Bethan manages the administrative staff, ensuring that support is available for volunteers, staff and researchers. This covers everything from raising medical notes and ordering supplies to managing staff records and the dedicated patient catering service.
Bethan is responsible for operational activities in Southampton’s clinical research facilities including maintenance, new capital projects and ensuring that our equipment and facilities comply with regulatory safety requirements. She was the project liaison for two government-funded capital programmes that have substantially increased the centre’s research capacity.
Activity metrics collated by Bethan for investigators, funders and partners show the scientific outcomes and patient benefits from NIHR funded research conducted in the facility. They also describe the central role the facility plays in local and national networks, in commercial relationships, and in the training of research staff.
