She is the allied health professional leader for Southampton’s rheumatology research team, which incorporates nursing, podiatry and laboratory technician staff.
Research into arthritis and knee osteoarthritis
Lyndsey works on inflammatory arthritis research with Professor Christopher Edwards, and recently completed a PhD in body weight and knee alignment risk-factors for knee osteoarthritis under Professor Nigel Arden's supervision.
Lyndsey graduated as a physiotherapist from the University of Liverpool in 1999. She gained a range of experience as a rotating physiotherapist at Hammersmith Hospitals NHS Trust in London for three years. She then moved on to locum community work in and around London before moving to Gibraltar in 2003, where she worked as a musculoskeletal physiotherapist. On returning to UK, she took a career break for a year to travel, then in 2006 moved to Southampton General Hospital to specialise in rheumatology research.
