Hospital Heroes is University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust's (UHSFT's) own awards for individuals and teams who are exceptional in their work and go the extra mile.

The clinical impact through research category recognises the hard work and dedication of those delivering research and its benefits. Our paediatric nursing team took the 2015 award thanks to their delivery of research in the facility that led to a new meningitis vaccination programme for all infants in the UK.

The children’s research team provides high quality, individualised research care, ensuring all children have the opportunity to take part in and benefit from research within the facility.
