Experience

Dr Arshad has worked for Southampton University Hospitals Trust since March 2007.

Graduated from Dow Medical College, Karachi, Pakistan, with post-graduate training in General and Respiratory Medicine the UK hospitals. Training in Allergy & Immunology was obtained at Southampton/Isle of Wight Centres in the UK and Johns Hopkins University in the US. Previously worked as Associate Professor at Aga Khan University in Pakistan, and Senior Lecturer at Keele University, Staffordshire, UK. 

Key achievements

At Aga Khan University Hospital (1994-1997), I headed the section of chest medicine and established (new) allergy service. At St. Mary’s Hospital (1997-2003), I led emergency services, and established hospital’s Medical Assessment Unit for the first time. At University Hospital North Staffordshire (2003-2007), I led respiratory services within the community. At Southampton University Hospital (since 2007), I provide an allergy service to the South Coast of England with clinics at Southampton, Bournemouth, and Isle of Wight.
