Training and Education

Dr Crabb trained at St George's Hospital Medical School, London. After junior doctor posts at various London teaching hospitals he trained in the care of patients with cancer in Southampton.  During this time he undertook doctoral research as a Cancer Research UK Clinical Research Fellow at the University of Southampton and a Clinical Research Fellowship in Medical Oncology at the British Columbia Cancer Agency in Vancouver. Finally he returned as a Clinical Lecturer in Medical Oncology to the University of Southampton

Experience

Dr Crabb has worked for Southampton University Hospitals Trust since October 2009. 

Dr Crabb specialises in the care of patients with cancers of the genitourinary tract including kidney, bladder and prostate cancers. He has particular interests in developing and participating in clinical trials of new treatments for these diseases.

Key achievements

Dr Crabb has undertaken a number of clinical and laboratory research projects aimed at developing new and hopefully better treatments for cancer. This program of research currently includes work into treatments to target epigenetic mechanisms in cancer and is focused on bladder and prostate cancers (described in detail on the University of Southampton website).
