Dr Duncombe has worked for Southampton University Hospitals Trust since May 1994. 

Trained in Haemato-oncology, Transplantation and general Haematology in the above centres of excellence and now have 15 years experience at consultant level in this field.

Key achievements

As Lead Consultant in Clinical Haematology 1995 - 2001,  established the Leukaemia and Transplant unit at SGH for the Wessex region and drove the initial business case for capital together with recurring annual revenue streams of £1.4m to launch a service which has now developed into a multi-million pound income stream for the Trust. 
Appointment to the national NCRI trials group in Myeloproliferative Disorders where i am helping develop National guidelines for treatment of Primary Thrombocythaemia and planning future studies.
