Dr Lajeunesse was born in the UK and trained at St Mary's Hospital Medical School part of Imperial College, London graduating in 1995.

He his an accredited specialist in Paediatrics and Paediatric Immunology and Infectious Diseases (includes Allergy). Dr Lajeunesse holds a doctorate in Children's Allergy from the University of Southampton. After research in Southampton he was appointed as the Clinical Lectuerer at Bristol Royal Hospital for Children, where he undertook medical research on the treatment of fever and causes of meningitis. 

Experience

Dr Erlewyn-Lajeunesse has worked for Southampton University Hospitals Trust since January 2008.

He is the Consultant in Paediatric Allergy at Southampton University Hospitals NHS Trust where he runs the regional NHS Children's Allergy Clinic. This clinic was established in 1990 and treats children form all over the region and beyond. Dr Lajeunesse has broad experience in treatment of children with allergic disease, serious infections and problems with the immune system. He has a particular interest in food allergy and the safety of vaccines. He regularly sees children with food allergies, allergic rashes and eczema, asthma and reactions to insects, drugs and vaccines. 

Key achievements

He is an Honorary Senior Lecturer at the University of Southampton and is one of the course leaders for their prestigious MSc in Allergy.

Dr Lajeunesse is  a member of the National Executive of the Children's HIV Asscoation and also advises the Medicines Healthcare Regulatory Agency
