Mr Evans has worked for Southampton University Hospitals Trust since July 1983.
Extensive experience in the sub-specialty areas noted above since appointment as Consultant.
Strong commitment to teaching at all levels since appointment. Lectured nationally and internationally in these fields – over 150 Keynote / Eponymous Lectures delivered since appointment as Consultant and regular member of Invited Faculty on Courses nationally / internationally.
Long history of Examiner at postgraduate surgical examinations.
Examiner for the Intercollegiate FRCS in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery since 2001.
Member of the Intercollegiate Examination Board in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery since 2007.
Member of the Intercollegiate Committee for Quality Control for Surgical Examinations since 2008.
Key achievements
1) Developed with others, surgery of the skull base at SUHT as well as the craniofacial trauma service at SUHT.
2) Elected to the Council of BAOMS 2002-4
3) Appointed Civilian Consultant Advisor in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery to Her Majesty’s Navy in 2006 and continue in this role.
4) President British Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons 2009.

President’s Prize – British Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons (BAOMS) 2000
Down Surgical Prize BAOMS 2006 – this is the highest award of this Association. It is considered a high honour and is awarded to a person or persons who are adjudged to have made a major contribution to Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, in the widest sense.
