Experience

Mr Hancock has worked for University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust since March 2011. 

Mr Hancock qualified in 1998 and spent 2 years working in renowned Major Trauma Centres (Groote Schuur and Tygerberg Hospitals) in South Africa. In the UK he advanced his interest in orthopaedic surgery by working with leading international experts across the country.

Mr Hancock has been in continuous employment in the NHS since 2000. He completed his higher surgical training rotation in the South of England, attaining Fellowship to the Royal College of Surgeons in 2009. During this time he established a broad experience in all aspects trauma and orthopaedic surgery.

In 2010 he was awarded a year’s fellowship in Sydney, Australia, researching bone graft substitutes and artificial ligaments with the University of New South Wales. During this time he developed expertise in the latest techniques in hip and knee surgery, working at Concord Repatriation General Hospital, University of Sydney.
