Natural Science First Class MA (Cantab); PhD (Cantab); MBBChir (Cantab); Anaesthesia training predominantly in Wessex but one year ICM fellowship in Cambridge. I have also completed diplomas in Computing and in Statistics as part of my First Class BSc in Mathematics and Computing (OU) (2006)
Experience
Dr Hill has worked for Southampton University Hospitals Trust since March 1995.
My subspecialist interests have been in Neuroanaesthesia and Neurointensive Care , but I now concentrate on Neuroanaesthesia, including Paeditric Neuroanaesthesia
Key achievements
I was lead consultant for the development of the Neurointensive Care Unit and part of the design team. I have been an Examiner for the Royal College of Anaesthetists for 10 years and currently chair the Primary MCQ Exam group. I have also been appointed to the Examination Committee for the European Diploma in Anaesthesiology. I am currently completing a five-year appointment as Training Programme Director for Anaesthesia in Wessex.

Peck T., Hill S. & Williams M. Pharmacology for Anaesthesia and Intensive Care. 3rd edition (2008) Cambridge University Press. This textbook has become extremely popular for preparation for Primary FRCA. I have also written several chapters in major anaesthesia texts on: Statistics; Pharmacodynamics; Pharmacodynamic Modelling. I am Block editor for Pharmacology for the RCoA e-Learning and author of several pharmacology sessions.
