Professor Primrose has worked for Southampton University Hospitals Trust since October 1993.
20 years Consultant experience in principally cancer surgery, now with focus on surgery of the liver.
Key achievements
• Development of the hepatobiliary (HPB) services in Southampton to create one of the largest HPB service units in the UK. Approximately 250 major HPB cases per year including 100 livers operations annually.
• Successful national bid to CRUK (2006) for Clinical Trials Unit infrastructure
•Awarded 6 Clinical Fellows and 3 Clinical Lecturers in a national bid for “Walport” posts
• Appointed (2007) Director of the Comprehensive Local Research Network, the principle means by which NHS R&D funding is delivered.
