Experience
Dr Roberts has worked for Southampton University Hospitals Trust since September 1994.
Experience in acute care of elderly people and rehabilitation. I have run a movement disorder service for many years with a focus on Parkinson's disease. I became a senior lecturer in 2002 and combine my clinical work with teaching medical students and research. My research involves a focus on Parkinsons's disease and also frailty.
Key achievements
Senior Lecturer in Geriatric Medicine in the School of Medicine. Honorary Consultant to the Prof RSJ Briggs Academic Unit on G Level SUHT which has the remit of developing and evaluating complex multidisciplinary acute care for older people admitted to hospital. Visiting Clinical Scientist at the MRC Epidemiology Resource Centre. Vice chair of British Geriatrics Society Movement Disorders section. Deputy lead for South Coast Dementia and Neurodegenerative Diseases local research network. Lead on Age and ageing for Hampshire and Isle of Wight Comprehensive loacl research network.
