1. Completed radiotherapy training and obtained MD in India in July, 1997
2. Completed specialist registrar training in Wessex clinical oncology specialist registrar training scheme on 15/11/2009.
3. Honorary clinical attachment / Fellowship in IMRT and IGRT at Royal Marsden Hospital (January, 2009 - March, 2009) and clinical IMRT training once a week from 1/03/09 until 01/09/09
4. Experience in stereotactic radiotherapy for skull base tumours.

Experience

Dr Shanmugasundaram has worked for Southampton University Hospitals Trust since November 2009. 

Key achievements

1. Lead for IMRT implementation at Southampton Oncology Centre.
2. Training programme director for clinical oncology at Wessex Deanery from May, 2010
3. Selected to join the first cohort of SUHT’s Clinical Academy from February, 2011. 
 

Research

1. Keen interest in developing and implementing new radiotherapy techniques- IMRT and VMAT.
2. Interested in setting up IMRT trials in head and neck cancers at Southampton.
