My interests and experience

I am fully trained in all aspects of coronary intervention having worked in a world-renowned high volume unit, with internationally recognised pioneers in interventional cardiology. I am trained in tachy and bradycardia pacing, although only practice bradycardia pacing now. I am also trained in all aspects of general cardiology, including echocardiography. I have an interest in cardiology and intensive care.

My clinical specialist areas are: trans-radial intervention, heart attack intervention, multi-vessel revascularisation, rotablation, treatment of chronic total occlusions, complex coronary intervention, use of dedicated bifurcation stents, intravascular ultrasound and pressure wire.

I have a longstanding specialist interest in medical education. I worked in the education department at the Royal College of Physicians (RCP) London in 2003 where I developed new methods of assessment of doctors in training, including direct observation of procedural skills (DOPS). I have been involved with medical education ever since and am on the faculty of the RCP Doctors as educators programme. I also have an interest in simulation-based training for procedures.
