Booking courses and training

How to browse and register for courses

  1. Select the relevant course category from the course catalogue using the search or A to Z, or by browsing through the menu on the left.
  2. Click on the name of the course you are interested in.
  3. Read the information on the course page to decide whether the course is suitable for you. Ensure you have completed any pre-requisite training before booking.
  4. Take a note of the date, time and venue of the course you would like to attend. It is your responsibility to ensure you can attend at this date and time.
  5. Select the 'register for this course link', which will open in a new window.
  6. Complete the online registration form with the required details and then click on the 'submit' button.

What happens next

If you are a UHSFT employee applying for a course,  you will be contacted to confirm your booking and your line manager will be copied in to this correspondence. You should therefore speak to your manager to get authorisation before applying for a course. Managers are asked to contact the course administrator only if they do not authorise your attendance.

If you are a manager applying on behalf of an employee,  the employee will be contacted to confirm their booking using the details you provide on the application form.

If you are an external candidate, you will be contacted by the relevant course administrator who will confirm your place and send you joining instructions (where applicable).

How we use your booking information

Your booking and attendance status will be recorded on the Oracle Learning Management system (part of the Electronic Staff Records system). By registering for a course via this site, you are consenting for this information to be stored on the Trust's learning management system.

Cancellations and late attendances

It is your responsibility to ensure, when booking on to a course, that you can attend at the specified time, date and venue. You must make sure you are on time for the start of the course.

Do not cancel your place unless absolutely necessary. If cancellation is unavoidable, you must let us know as soon as possible.

Cancelled places and late attendances waste valuable training resources.

We always follow up late or non-attendance at courses.
