The course will cover:

Indications for cardiac monitoring

The cardiac cycle

Basic ECG rhythm recognition
Aims and outcomes
This course meets level two circulation (ECG interpretation) competency as outlined in the acute care skills competency framework.
Target audience
This two hour course has been designed for staff who are newly qualified, have moved to an area where patients are routinely monitored, or for staff who would like to update and refresh their skills.
Prerequisites
None, although a basic knowledge of the anatomy and physiology of the heart will be of benefit.
