PACS (picture archiving and communications system)

Course description

PACS is the Trust's web based picture archiving and communications system for examining medical images. The system enables you to find, display and manipulate virtually any medical image or patient study that may consist of an individual image or a series of digital images.

 
Aims and outcomes
By the end of the course participants will be able to:
  • Interpret and comply with the principles of the data protection act 
  • Search and locate patients
  • Understand and use worklists
  • View a study, image and report
  • Manipulate the image
  • View other images
  • Manipulate CT Images
  • Use PACS short cut keys
  • Scope images
  • Close PACS
