Course description
This course aims to help staff become competent at assessing patients and have an awareness of patient positioning and transferring.
The topics covered are:

ABCDE assessment

SBAR

airway awareness

patient positioning

patient transfer skills
Aims and outcomes
Upon successful completion of the course, you will be able to:

complete an ABCDE assessment on a patient

uyderstand what SBAR is and why it is used
-
have an awareness of the basic airway adjuncts that are used
-
be safe in transferring a patient
-
be able to position a patient adequately
Target audience
Band two healthcare assistants from Division B.
Prerequisites
You must have completed band two study day part one to attend this course.
