Child protection level 3: UHS multi-agency regional study day
Course description
Staff will learn about latest policy, research and practice developments and develop a deep understanding of what constitutes best practice across the country, national and regional lessons from serious case reviews, section 11 expectations, roles and responsibilities. In depth exploration representing cases at court, responding to complaints and understanding the role of the media in this context. Working with complexity and maximising outcomes for children.
Aims and outcomes
By the end of the course you will:

have an understanding of the law, statutory and local guidance and of the current drivers behind the government's agenda in improving outcomes for all children in the UK

know the latest research messages, practice developments and benchmark against those to improve service in own areas

know how to present cases in court in a child focusssed way and be highly effective in multi-agency working and in devliering a seamless service to protect children

demonstrate and implement gold standard best practice in the context of the course descriptors and objectives
Target audience
Level 3: For all staff who have particular responsibilities in relation to child protection or safeguarding, S17, S47 enquiries from health, police, social services and education. Those who work with complex cases and staff responsible for co-ordinating or undertaking paediatric reviews and other assessments. Particularly for validation and re-validation of paediatric consultants and all senior staff from all agencies including LSCB and CYPT.
