Equality and eliminating bullying and harrassment

Course description

This course will look at some of the issues of:

  • working in a diverse workplace
  • serving a diverse community
  • being different in some way from the people you work with
  • bullying and harassment.

Also covered is the impact those differences, bullying and harassment have on an individual's effectiveness within their workgroup, and how you can tackle this.

 
Aims and outcomes

Upon successful completion of the course you will be able to:

  • state what equality and diversity mean
  • state the effect of diversity and reasons for and benefits of promoting equality and diversity
  • identify how discrimination may occur
  • state what bullying and harassment mean
  • define legislation and our responsibilities for equality and diversity
  • identify how equality and discrimination and bullying and harassment relates to your role and what to do when behaviour is not appropriate
