Appraisal and KSF course for managers and supervisors
Course description
This half-day course will be a combination of theoretical and practical exercises.
The main area of activity will be appraisals and the application of the knowledge and skills framework (KSF) for managers and supervisors.
Aims and outcomes
This course is to enable managers and supervisors to conduct effective appraisals with their staff.
An appraisal is the process used by managers to review all staff annually, whether they are on Trust or Agenda for Change contracts.
All staff should receive an annual appraisal with their manager when they should discuss the individuals' appraisal, progress towards and achievement of the KSF outline and agreement of the personal development plan.
The course will focus on the process and paperwork for appraisals including undertaking appraisals, KSF and agreement of a personal development plan. Roles and responsibilities of managers and supervisors in this process and enabling staff to pass through gateways will be covered. Objectives of this course are to understand the rationale, process and documentation of appraisal, which comprise appraisal, KSF and personal development plan.
Target audience
All managers and supervisors who are required to conduct appraisals with staff that do not already have the knowledge and understanding of the appraisals process and documentation.
