Care group management development programme (core module)

Course description

This two day multi-disciplinary programme, based off-site, is for staff working at care group management level, typically band 8 upwards.

In this intensive and highly participative programme, a variety of different learning approaches and external expertise are used to explore key facets of these demanding roles.

The core programme may be supplemented by shorter sessions responsive to the development needs of the group but typically includes facilitated discussion sessions, learner sets and master classes.

 
Aims and outcomes

This course aims to provide those working at care group management level with the opportunity to review, develop and enhance their leadership style and behaviours in a challenging but safe environment.

By the end of this course participants will:

  • identify the critical success factors and key stages in any negotiation
  • prepare for and effectively lead a difficult conversation
  • demonstrate effective communications skills in a challenging scenario
  • identify the natural strengths and potential areas for growth of their Myers Briggs type (MBTI)
  • develop a personal action plan for continued development
 
Target audience

Care group managers, care group leads, equivalent heads of departments or services.
