Dyslexia workshop for managers – employer perspective

Course description

This one day course, facilitated by the British Dyslexia Association (BDA), will help managers have a better understanding of dyslexia, how it is manafests itself with employees, the employer responsibilities under the Disability Discrimination Act (DDA) and how to make reasonable adjustments in the workplace.

 
Aims and outcomes
  • Understand what dyslexia is as a condition and how it manifests itself
  • A working knowledge of how dyslexia fits into the DDA and what employers’ responsibilities are
  • Learn about how to make work conditions dyslexia friendly
  • Produce a reasonable adjustment
 
Target audience

HR staff, supervisors, managers, education leads, trainers. Anyone with the responsibility for managing staff.
