Literacy course for learners whose first language is not English

Course description

This course will help you improve your English and literacy skills and increase your confidence at work. This is a 13 week course consisting of a two hour session per week and a national qualification will be achieved upon successful completion.

 
Aims and outcomes

Successful completion of this course will:

  • help your confidence using English
  • support you to improve your spelling, grammar, reading and understanding various texts
  • help you to communicate with colleagues and the general public
 
Target audience

Any staff or volunteers whose first language is not English.

 
Prerequisites
Before the course begins, you will be asked to complete an initial assessment to check your current standard of English and literacy.
