Preparation for retirement

Course description

Each workshop will explore the following:

  • have you protected your income and your families?
  • are you saving enough for your retirement?
  • in the current climate where is the best place for your savings?
  • do you understand your pension arrangements?
  • how is your state pension calculated?
  • what tax relief can you get?
  • how does new pension legislation affect you?
  • have you made a will and protected the family home?
  • how will you spend your extra time?
 
Aims and outcomes

A day workshop designed to inform participants about the options for financial planning for retirement and pensions. The course will also help retirees to adjust to a new chapter of their lives to include hobbies and lifestyle.

 
Target audience

This course is recommended for NHS staff within two years of retirement, but staff may attend at any time up to five years prior to their expected retirement date.
