Advanced paediatric life support (APLS) course

Course description
This is a three day intensive course consisting of one day e-learning and two days dealing with the practicalities, assessments, management and resuscitation of the seriously ill child suffering cardiac emergencies and trauma.
 
Aims and outcomes
By the end of the APLS course the student will have shown the theoretical and practical skills to effectively treat cardiorespiratory arrest, peri-arrest situations and special circumstances, and to prepare senior members of a multidisciplinary team to treat the child until transfer to a critical care area is possible. 
 
Target audience

Medical and senior nursing staff who have a responsibility for acutely ill children.
