Health Services Library
Everyone who works for University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust can join the Health Services Library at Southampton General Hospital. If you're employed by another NHS organisation but based at SGH you're also entitled to become a member of the Health Services Library. The library is here to support the work, learning and research activities of all Trust staff.
Membership provides you with access to:

DVDs and CD-ROMs

fiction collection

computers with web access

photocopying facilities

training and support in finding and using information

space to study or work

help to access and use NHS Evidence
You can pick up a registration form at the library. We'll need to see two pieces of ID when you join. One should prove you're employed by UHSFT (your contract or payslip); the other should have your current address on it (a current utility bill or driving licence).

Electronic resources for NHS staff
NHS staff have access to a wide range of electronic resources. This includes:

bibliographic databases (including Medline and CINAHL)

full-text e-journals

a collection of e-books
Please visit NHS Evidence|. Some areas of the NHS Evidence site are freely available. However, to get full access to resources such as databases, e-journals and e-books you will need to have an NHS Athens username and password.
If you have not already registered for NHS Athens|, just follow the link on this page. The process only takes a few minutes if you use an NHS PC.
