Preceptorship

Preceptorship is 'a period of transition for the newly qualified registrant during which time he or she will be supported by a preceptor, to develop their confidence as an autonomous professional, refine skills, values and behaviours and to continue on their journey of life-long learning’

As a Trust UHSFT is committed to providing all newly qualified registrants from all disciplines a period of preceptorship, please open link to our preceptorship pledge and minimum standards for further information. Each division has a hub and spoke approach to preceptorship, but all give assurances that the minimum standards are applied.

Flying Start NHS| is the national development programme for all newly qualified nurses, midwives and allied health professionals. It has been designed to support your transition from student to newly qualified health professional by supporting learning in everyday practice through a range of learning activities.
